Specifications for Temptation

This is a super stable, feature rich, innovative 10-footer that actually paddles like a much larger kayak. We brought all the wants and wishes to our dear friend and designer Jim Snyder and Wow, did he nail this one!
This one is FUN on rivers and lakes. This boat is a great fishing platform (aka Stealth) but its also an exceptional touring and recreational kayak. It has the chops to take on the foulest weather and waves and still serve up a gracious ride even for beginners. The Temptation is focused on comfort and tracks true quite easily. The stability is second to none and it offers a lot of speed for a ten-footer. And for a boat this size you can pack enough gear for a camping trip in it! So, you have a sweet ride with all the goodies you could want to carry what more could you ask for?
Without a doubt the most comfortable and well thought-out foot braces in the entire industry and a full size tank well for storing anything you would possibly need for a fun day of paddling, EKs legendary paddle ledges, and best of all, the friendliest performance hull you will find on a kayak of this size. The built in adjustable seat is the perfect solution to comfortable paddling, and collapses for storage. Not only is the initial stability rock solid, but the secondary lock down stability is absolutely right on.
Kayaks are available in several kinds of materials and with different construction methods:
Composite kayaks are made from fiberglass, kevlar and graphite in different combinations. Fiberglass, is very durable and makes a strong and economical kayak.Kevlar is lighter and very tough so less needs to be used to make a strong and very durable kayak. Graphite is even lighter than kevlar and is used in strategic locations on some models.
Plastic, Super Compound Linear Polyethylene, (SCL) is extremely tough and durable. It is used in the rotomolded models. Cuts or breaks are so rare I have never seen one, even on white water boats. UV inhibitors are blended in to protect from the sun. This is the most economical durable material Current Designs kayaks are built with. The down side is a little bit of flex and a bit more extra weight.
Thermoformed Composite System (TCS). These are made from an Acrylic and ABS plastic laminate. This plastic is stiffer and lighter than SCL polyethylene. It has the look and light weight of a fiberglass kayak, but costs less. For a more in depth description of these materials the Current Designs web site, or a catalog will help.
