| This is my last one, it has a few minor scrapes from loading and unloading and has a touch of fading from being on display. None of this affects its life or function in any measurable way. This is another uniquely designed Emotion Kayak. It is only 12 foot 7 inches long but can hold a lot of weight. The seat is very comfortable and it moves along well when loaded and surprisingly well with just the paddler's weight. For all it's pluses I have one important consideration, it is not for very short people. Children or adults under 5 feet tall should be sure to try it out on the water before paddling to see if it feels good. This is a great design and I would like to promote it for those needing a less expensive alternative to a fiberglass or kevlar kayak. The 'Advant-Edge' boasts an advanced hybrid hull which provides an exceptional blend of speed, stability, and performance. This boat has superior handling and sea-worthiness, so it is well suited for large take crossings and long trips, in addition to your daily fitness workouts or day trips.
The ample cockpit enables easy entry and exit, even with boots on. It also incorporates a big, comfortable seat with plenty of back support. The interior storage units include 2 huge side pockets and a waterproof "glovebox", providing easy access to all the gear you'll ever need. The stern is bulk-headed for worry-free floatation and deck support. The aft deck hatch provides easy access so you can store even more stuff back there. The security loops make cabling the boat secure and easy and can be a perfect solution for carrying the kayak |

Kayaks are available in several kinds of materials and with different construction methods: Composite kayaks are made from fiberglass, kevlar and graphite in different combinations. Fiberglass, is very durable and makes a strong and economical kayak. Kevlar is lighter and very tough so less needs to be used to make a strong and very durable kayak. Graphite is even lighter than kevlar and is used in strategic locations on some models. Plastic, Super Compound Linear Polyethylene, (SCL) is extremely tough and durable. It is used in the rotomolded models. Cuts or breaks are so rare I have never seen one, even on white water boats. UV inhibitors are blended in to protect from the sun. This is the most economical durable material Current Designs kayaks are built with. The down side is a little bit of flex and a bit more extra weight. Thermoformed Composite System (TCS). These are made from an Acrylic and ABS plastic laminate. This plastic is stiffer and lighter than SCL polyethylene. It has the look and light weight of a fiberglass kayak, but costs less. For a more in depth description of these materials the Current Designs web site, or a catalog will help. Also feel free to contact us. |
