Current Designs Breeze 52 13ft. 6in. 25.00in. 14.00 Speckled Mango
This Kayak is a bit Scaled down for the smaller paddler. I found that somewhere under 190 pounds is optimum. This one has no rudder for $699. I have one with a rudder for $849

This is a lot more of what you buy a kayak for than any other recreational kayak. I have sold more of these than any other model. They paddle like a longer kayak and are versatile enough for moderate river and larger lakes. Current Designs' Breeze is a highly versatile day tripping kayak. It is designed specifically for North America's millions of birdwatchers, naturalists and outdoor photographers where speed is not the top priority. This small touring kayak can handle the roughest conditions, yet cruises at an easy touring pace. The Breeze fits a broad size range of paddlers and is extremely user-friendly.

At 13'6" in length, the Breeze is one of the shorter Current Designs kayaks. With its fish form, shallow "V" hull design, this small kayak has tremendous stability. This one does have a rudder.

The stern bulkhead and a generously sized stern hatch make storing gear easy. The secured bow buoyancy bag gives the boat proper flotation in the event of a capsize.

Due to broad appeal and great value, the Breeze is one of the most popular Current Designs models. (Shown with optional rudder)

Kayaks are available in several kinds of materials and with different construction methods:

Composite kayaks are made from fiberglass, kevlar and graphite in different combinations. Fiberglass, is very durable and makes a strong and economical kayak. Kevlar is lighter and very tough so less needs to be used to make a strong and very durable kayak. Graphite is even lighter than kevlar and is used in strategic locations on some models.

Plastic, Super Compound Linear Polyethylene, (SCL) is extremely tough and durable. It is used in the rotomolded models. Cuts or breaks are so rare I have never seen one, even on white water boats. UV inhibitors are blended in to protect from the sun. This is the most economical durable material Current Designs kayaks are built with. The down side is a little bit of flex and a bit more extra weight.

Thermoformed Composite System (TCS). These are made from an Acrylic and ABS plastic laminate. This plastic is stiffer and lighter than SCL polyethylene. It has the look and light weight of a fiberglass kayak, but costs less. For a more in depth description of these materials the Current Designs web site, or a catalog will help.
